NVIDIA, una tempo sinonimo di affidabilità, perde colpi e capitola con un clamoroso caso di malfunzionamento che coinvolge due modelli di prodotti Geforce, l’8400M e l’8600M, montati su laptop di tutti i tipi e marche (Acer, Apple, Asus, BenQ, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, LG, MSI, NEC, Sony, Toshiba).

Il problema è che un difetto nel chip può portare molto facilmente al surriscaldamento del componente e quindi all’impossibilità di usare il computer. Il danno però è così diffuso e su così tanti modelli che se ne sta creando un secondo: come la faccenda viene gestita dalle compagnie che producono l’hardware.

Dell e HP al momento sono le uniche aziende che hanno comunicato di essere pronte a porre rimedio a chiunque si presenti nei loro punti assistenza e lamenti simili problemi, solo che lo fanno con una soluzione tampone che non è certamente l’ideale. In sostanza viene aggiornato il BIOS del computer per far attivare la ventola in tutti quei casi in cui il chip si surriscalda, cosa che causa un lavoro maggiore per la batteria (che così durerà di meno) e che accresce l’usura aumentando il lavoro del sistema di raffreddamento in maniera non preventivata. Vodafone has introduced a new Mobile Internet service through which users can access ‘real internet’ on their mobile phones. The multinational mobile phone operator has developed a technology that enables web pages to be tailored to more than 150 different handsets, making it possible for users to access any and every website. Furthermore, connections are also made faster, since the technology ends up compressing page sizes by ten times.

In a statement issued, Vodafone said that its customers “will experience a significant improvement in the way they access the internet from their phones, coupled with the confidence and freedom to surf whenever and wherever they want without having to worry about the cost thanks to easy-to-understand, great value pricing�.

Furthermore, Vodafone added that it will not be necessary for most customers to upgrade their mobiles. “Vodafone Mobile Internet will revolutionise the way our customers use the internet. They now have the freedom to explore a much wider world on an extensive range of handsets, experiencing the familiarity of the internet they previously enjoyed via a computer.
